Paul Biya's Long Reign In Cameroon: Can New Elections Bring Change?

Paul Barthélemy Biya is a Cameroonian politician who has been serving as the second president of Cameroon since 1982. He was previously the fifth prime minister under President Ahmadou Ahidjo from 1975 to 1982. Cameroonians are in a waiting game. As elections approach this October, all signs point to an 8th term for president PaulBiya, now age 92. Just as President Biya has relied on Israel, Israel has also relied on him personally to maintain the stability of their bilateral relationship.
